As we transition from one academic year to the next, there are always many new appointments to dean positions at colleges and universities throughout the United States. Here is this week's listing of women who will be serving in dean posts.
Dr. Chepko was appointed assistant dean at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2017. Earlier, Dr., Chekpo served as chair of the department of physical education, sport and human performance at Winthrop University in Rock Hill South Carolina.
The women appointed to dean posts are Marlyn Delva at Columbia University, Mary Huff at Bellarmine University, Takita Felder Sumter at Winthrop University, Camilla P. Benbow at Vanderbilt University, Jerri A. Haynes at Tennessee State University and Cassandra B. Jeter-Bailey at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Jamie Comstock Williamson has been president of the state-operated university in Rock Hill, South Carolina, for less than one year. Previously, she was director of the Executive Leadership Group at the American Council on Education and vice president for academic affairs at Butler University in Indianapolis.
She is currently serving as director of the Executive Leadership Group at the American Council on Education in Washington while on sabbatical leave from her post as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Butler University in Indianapolis.
