Dr. Reyes currently serves as vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Earlier, Dr. Reyes served as associate vice president of the Newburgh campus of the State University of New York. She will take on her new duties at Lamar Community College in March.
The new deans are Dorothy C. Browne at Jackson State University in Mississippi, Deborah K. Zbegner at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, and Mary Glavin at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
Rhonda M. Rabbitt is the new dean of the School of Education at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania. Ruth Tarantine was appointed dean of nursing at Colorado Technical University and Jan Murphy was named interim dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology at Illinois State University.
President Loeschke became president of Towson University on January 1, 2012. For the previous five years she has been president of Mansfield University in Pennsylvania. Earlier, she was provost at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Maravene Loeschke announced that she was taking a leave of absence from her post for the remainder of 2014. In April, President Loeschke stated that she had been diagnosed with cancer of the adrenal gland.
The six women receiving promotions and tenure at the university are Helen Davis in education, Linda Gutierrez in biology, Jin "Joy" Mao in education, Suzanne Murray-Galella in education, Jacqueline Stewart in nursing, and Ge "Grace" Xiao in business.
The women in new teaching posts are Fatemeh Akhlaghi, Sally Cornelison, Paola Bianco, Fatemeh Keshavarz, K. Joy Buck, Laura Fine Hawkes, Mercedes Baillargeon, and Kristy A. Brumfield.
The five women taking on new faculty roles are Galina Goloverda at Xavier University of Louisiana, Barbara Creel at the University of New Mexico, April Vallerand at Wayne State University, Elissa Y. Weichbrodt at Covenant College and Emma Q. Hao at Wilkes University.
LoriAnn Pajalich, Margaret Pavla, Maureen Schoch, Lisbeth Turner, and Pei Zhang have joined the faculty of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
