Dr. Aiken is the founding director of the the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She has conducted extensive research on nurse's education and work environments, providing the foundation for modern staffing policies around the world.
At Florida State University, Dr. Cook conducts research with the department of psychology and the Learning Systems Institute on topics relating to children's development of skills that underlie their long-term academic success. In addition to her own research, she has been advocate for advancing access to healthcare, childcare, and parental leave for other FSU postdocs.

Originally trained as a chemist, Dr. Wilson held a wide range of academic and administrative roles at several universities before becoming president of Radcliffe College in 1989. She retired in 1999 when the merger of Radcliffe College with Harvard University was completed.
