Samantha Hegmann-Wary has been appointed interim athletic director at the University of Maine. Linda J. Bell is the new director of athletics at Dillard University in New Orleans and Tara Owens was appointed director of athletics at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Dr. Niemi has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne. Earlier, she was professor and chair of the education department at the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

Graça Vicente, a professor of chemistry at Louisiana State University was named a Boyd Professor at the university. Jacqueline Goldsby has been appointed the Thomas E. Donnelley Professor of African American Studies and English at Yale University and Pamela L. Allison has been named to the Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Angela Grube will be the next dean of the College of Business at Western Carolina Univerity in Cullowhee, North Carolina. LaKeisha L. Harris has been appointed dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Colleen G. Koch will be the first woman to serve as dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Nancy Niemi has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Montserrat Fuentes has been named executive vice president and provost at the University of Iowa.

Since September 2017, Dr. Anderson has been special advisor to the president of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She served as provost and vice president for academic affairs there from 2015 to 2017.

They are Lenora Tubbs Tisdale at Yale DIvinity School, Carolyn B. Brooks at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Mary Cronin at Rice University, Ethel Hill Williams at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Roxanne Lalande of Lafayette College, and Janet Strohl-Morgan at Princeton University.

Dr. Bell became president of the university on July 1, 2012. From 2009 to 2012, Dr. Bell was provost and vice president for academic affairs at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. In retirement, she plans to write a book on her journey from the cotton fields of Alabama to the presidency of a state university.

Jacqueline Holland is an assistant professor of family and consumer sciences at Morgan State University in Baltimore. She was installed as president at the association's 108th annual conference in Dallas.
