In Memoriam: Joan Callahan, 1946-2019
In 1986, Dr. Callahan joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky, where she taught philosophy for the remainder of career. There she was director of what is now the Gender and Women’s Studies Program from 1998 to 2002 and again from 2003 to 2007. She retired in 2011.

The study, led by a dean at the University of Kentucky, found that the overall number of women in faculty positions is nearing that of men. However, The results found that only 32.6 percent of tenured faculty at doctoral level institutions are women.

Heidi Anderson Appointed the 16th President of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Since September 2017, Dr. Anderson has been special advisor to the president of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She served as provost and vice president for academic affairs there from 2015 to 2017.
