Dr. Chilton has over two decades of experience in higher education leadership, most recently serving as provost and executive vice president of the Washington State University System and chancellor of the university's Pullman campus.
The three women scholars appointed to provost posts are Beth Fisher Ingram at Northern Illinois University, Carol Kim at the University at Albany of the State University of New York System, and Diana Rogers-Adkinson at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania
