In Memoriam: Katherine Tsanoff Brown, 1919-2016
Katherine Tsanoff Brown grew up on the Rice University campus as her father was the first professor of philosophy there. She graduated from Rice at the age of 19 and later returned to the university as its first instructor in art history. She taught at Rice for 26 years.
In Memoriam: Elinor Evans, 1914-2016
Elinor Evans was the Albert K. and Harry K. Smith Professor Emerita of Architecture at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Professor Evans taught design to first-year students in the School of Architecture from 1964 to 1985. She continued to lecture at the school well into her 90s.
