Dr. Void taught early childhood education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for nearly two decades, including 13 years of service as chair of her department. Earlier in her career, she taught at Norfolk State University in Virginia.
Since 2012, Dr. Haney has been serving as vice president for academic affairs at the college. Prior to coming to Moraine Valley in 2009, Dr. Haney served as program administrator and assistant professor of communication arts at Defiance College in Ohio. She also taught as an assistant professor of speech communication at Norfolk State University in Virginia.
Marie McDemmond was the first woman to lead Norfolk State University and the first African-American woman to serve as president of a four-year college in Virginia.
The four women who have been appointed to administrative roles relating to diversity are Rochelle D. Smith at Saint Louis University in Missouri, Jane Irungu at Utah State University, Brianna Williams at Norfolk State University in Virginia, and Alaina Macaulay at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The new deans are Janeil C. Rey at the State University of New York at Fredonia, Denelle Wallace-Alexander at Norfolk Stae University, Mary Jo Billiot at New Mexico State University, Carmen Renee’ Green a the City University of New York School of Medicine, and Karen Sneddon at the law school of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
Dr. Ramsey, whose appointment is effective May 1, comes to CUNY from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in Washington, D.C., where she spent the past year as a senior executive fellow. A biologist by training, Dr. Ramsey previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.
For the past eight years, Dr. Fulton has served as dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and professor of history, humanities, and languages at the University of Houston–Downtown. Earlier, she taught at the University of Alabama.

Dr. Adams-Gaston has had a 30 year career in higher education. Currently, she serves as senior vice president and affiliate assistant professor at Ohio State University. Earlier, she served on the faculty at the University of Maryland, College Park and Johns Hopkins Univerity in Baltimore.
Sandra J. Deloatch, a professor of computer science at Norfolk State University, Susan Grover, vice provost at the College of William & Mary, and Sue Day-Perroots, associate provost at West Virginia University, have retired or will do so later this year.
Taking on new roles are Tomoko Sakomura at Swarthmore College, Aimee Bender at the University of Southern California, Anne C. Stone at Arizona State University, Ann-Catherine Sullivan at Norfolk State University in Virginia, Canan Dagdeviren at MIT, Lori Rolando at Vanderbilt University, and Raina Merchant at the University of Pennsylvania.
