Dr. Stuebner has led Simpson College on an interim basis since July 28. She has nearly 30 years of professional experience, including service as president of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire.
"The headwinds remain fierce in higher education, but Simpson is clearly poised for a promising future," said Susan Stuebner, who was recently appointed interim president of Simpson College in Iowa. "I look forward to working closely with our outstanding faculty and staff to maximize the great opportunities ahead of us."

Dr. Stuebner has served as president of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire for the past eight years. She will assume the presidency of Marietta College in Ohio on July 15.
The four women named to endowed chairs are Mapuana Antonio at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Sandra Kingery, a professor of Spanish at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Lorrie Frasure at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Rebecca L. Aft at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Professor Massey was the first woman to serve on the faculty at the University of Miami School of Law. She was also the first woman to hold a dean position at the school. Professor Massey served on the law school's faculty for 57 years.

The honorees are Nicky Phear of the University of Montana, Mary Morrison of Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Suzanne Mahlburg Kay of Cornell University in New York, and Amy Ogata of the University of Southern California.
Dr. Stuebner is currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She joined the staff there in 2013. Previously, Dr. Stuebner was vice president for administration and planning at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
