Dr. Gregory was appointed interim president of Jackson State University in May 2025. Prior to that appointment, she was the university's provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Dr. Gibbs has been serving as dean of the division of business and economics at Morehouse College in Atlanta. She is slated to become the first woman president of historically Black Texas College on July 1.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Hayes-Anthony had a successful career in broadcast journalism. Later in life, she taught at Belhaven College and Jackson State University, where she served as acting president in 2023.

The new provosts are Gretchen Ritter at the University of Minnesota, Preselfannie E. Whitfield McDaniels at Jackson State University in Mississippi, Ann Huff Stevens at the University of Colorado Boulder, and Maggy Tomova at Augusta University in Georgia.
