Dr. Tsegai previously served as the college’s Officer-in-Charge since 2022 and provost and vice president for academic affairs, a position she was appointed to in mid-2021. She joined SUNY Erie as the dean of engineering and technologies in 2018.
According to an investigation by the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, for a three-year period women were about half of all students at the college but only about a third of the student athletes.
The new Distinguished Professors are Joanna B. Chrzanowski at Jefferson Community College, Elizabeth Gaffney at Westchester Community College, and Mary Beth Orrange at Erie Community College.
