Damara Goff Paris was named the John E. King Endowed Professor at Emporia State University in Kansas. Mara Rudman has been appointed the James R. Schlesinger Distinguished Professor at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs and Christine Larson has been named as the inaugural holder of the Kemp Endowed Professorship in Honors Mathematics at South Dakota State University.
Michelle Schutt Has Been Selected as the Eleventh President of Greenfield Community College in Massachusetts
Dr. Schutt has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, holding leadership roles in all facets of education, including student affairs, academic services, and community learning. Most recently she was the vice president of community and learner services at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.
College of Mount St. Vincent in New York Selects Its Next President
Susan R. Burns is currently vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. Prior to her tenure at Clarke, Dr. Burns was associate dean for academic affairs at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. She will become the College of Mount St. Vincent’s sixth president on January 1.
The Next President of Emporia State University in Kansas
For the past three years, Allison Garrett has served as executive vice president at Abilene Christian University in Texas. She will become the 17th president of Emporia State University in January.
In Memoriam: Glenda Taylor, 1955-2015
Professor Taylor, chair of the department of art at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, was killed when she was hit by a truck while bicycling in the Kansas State Time Trial Championship.
