Marie Miller was named interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Emporia State University in Kansas. Dr. Miller, a professor of music, has been on the faculty at the university for more than two decades.
Dr. Miller is a graduate of Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She holds a master’s degree in music from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.
Dorothy Martin is the new academic dean at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle. For the past seven years, she has been director of career development at the Loring Jobs Corps Center. Previously, she was executive director of the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone.
Dr. Martin is a graduate of Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana. She holds two master’s degrees from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Mississippi.
Most recently, Dr. Hooyman was vice president of academic affairs and provost of Northwest Missouri State University. She was the first woman to serve in that role.
Born and raised in Alaska, Dr. O'Hara previously spent more than two decades with the College of Education at California State University, Sacramento. More recently, she was executive director of Sierra College's Nevada County Campus.
