Tamara Afifi, a professor of communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is the winner of the 2021 Gerald M. Phillips Award and was also named a Distinguished Scholar by the National Communications Association.

Laura Kalba, the Priscilla Paine Van der Poel Associate Professor of Art at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, was awarded the Laurence Wylie Prize in French Cultural Studies from the Institute of French Studies at New York University.
Dr. Brimhall has been on the staff at the college for nearly two decades. Since 2014, she has served as vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer. Earlier, Dr. Brimhall has dean of enrollment management, interim provost, and associate vice president of academic and student affairs.
Heather A. Slomski held the Axton Fellowship in Fiction at the University of Louisville and taught English at Concordia College and Kathleen Founds in an instructor in English at Cabrillo College in Watsonville, California.
