The Gender Gap in SAT Scores
The average combined score for women of 1486 is 24 points below the average combined score for men. Since 2006 when the SAT test was revised, the average combined score for both men and women has dropped by 20 points.

For the high school Class of 2013, men scored slightly better than women on the critical reading section of the SAT but men had significantly higher scores than women on the mathematics section. Women outperformed men on the SAT writing test.
