Dr. Stuebner has led Simpson College on an interim basis since July 28. She has nearly 30 years of professional experience, including service as president of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire.
"The headwinds remain fierce in higher education, but Simpson is clearly poised for a promising future," said Susan Stuebner, who was recently appointed interim president of Simpson College in Iowa. "I look forward to working closely with our outstanding faculty and staff to maximize the great opportunities ahead of us."
Dr. Stuebner has served as president of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire for the past eight years. She will assume the presidency of Marietta College in Ohio on July 15.
Dr. Stuebner is currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She joined the staff there in 2013. Previously, Dr. Stuebner was vice president for administration and planning at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire, enrolls about 1,400 students and women are 72 percent of the student body. The college recently announced the hiring of 15 new faculty members for the 2013-14 academic year. Six of the new hires are women.
