Colby College in Waterville, Maine, has promoted Sarah Duff, Carrie LeVan, and Elizabeth Soto to the rank of associate professor. All three were awarded tenure.
Denise Bruesewitz has taught in the department of environmental sciences at Colby College for more than a decade. She will assume her new role as the college's chief academic officer on July 1.
“It is a tremendous honor to support this first-of-its-kind Board here in Pennsylvania, and I look forward to working alongside the experienced leaders on the Board to strengthen postsecondary education and expand its capacity to serve the needs of the Commonwealth and its residents,” said Dr. Shaw.
For over 25 years, Dr. Arnstine served as a professor of education at California State University, Sacramento, where she taught courses on teacher preparation and the philosophy of education.
The gender makeup of co-authors differs substantially for man vs. woman-led studies. Within the past decade, woman-led studies have contained on average 20 percent more women coauthors than man-led studies.
The four women in new diversity posts are Jamila Lee-Johnson in the Graduate School at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, Katherine King at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, Donyale R. Padgett at Wayne State University in Detroit, and Laura Renée Chandler at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

The six women who have been appointed to new roles are Amy Ralston at Michigan State University, Tomi Obe at the University of Arkansas, Pardis Dabashi at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, Sonya Donaldson at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, Jennifer Russell at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and Mara Revkin at Duke Law School in Durham, North Carolina.
Taking on new administrative roles are Kelli Mosteller at Harvard University, Roshaunda Ross-Orta at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Jaci Lindburg at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Jordan Brandt at the University of Kansas, Patricia M. Lampkin at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and Julie K. Wood at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
