Dr. Whitney is the president emerita of Clarion University in Pennsylvania and recently served as interim chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Before leading Clarion, Dr. Whitney was vice chancellor for student life at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis from 1999 through 2010.
The 10 new deans at colleges and universities across the United States are Jennifer Collins, Laura Auricchio, Gwyneth Price, Amy Lauren Fairchild, Raka Ray, Diana Martinelli, Karen Muncaster, Anna Maria Siega-Riz, Lori Messinger, and Lisa Dutton.
Since 2012, Dr. Pehrsson has been serving as dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Central Michigan University. Earlier, she served on the faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Oregon State University and Sam Houston State University in Texas.
Since 2010, Dr. Whitney has served as president of Clarion University, a campus of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. She had previously announced that she would leave the presidency of Clarion at the end of the 2017-18 academic year.
Rose-Marie Muzika is a professor of forest ecology and associate director of the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
The complaints allege violations of Title IX resulting in "an ongoing failure of these universities to provide equal athletic opportunity to their students and, in some cases, equal financial assistance and recruitment."
