Dr. Wade-Gayles taught English and women's studies at Spelman College in Atlanta for over four decades. Her scholarship centered on African American women's literature.
The National Academy of Education has elected 19 distinguished education scholars and leaders to its membership. Of the 19 new members of the National Academy of Education, 12 are women.
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the National Institutes of Health recently presented its 2025 Landis Award for Outstanding Mentorship to Stephanie R. Jones, professor of neuroscience at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as Hartwick’s next president,” said Dr. Bongiorno. “Hartwick College is a remarkable community, defined by its commitment to students, its dedication to academic excellence ,and its belief that education can transform lives."
Dr. Betke served as a professor of computer science at Boston University since 2000. A leading expert in human-computer interaction, she was known for inventing Camera Mouse, a tool that enables people with severe motion impairments to communicate.
The new deans are Marisol Perez at Old Dominion University, Paula Massood at Brooklyn College, Carol Bishop Mills at Eastern Michigan University, Rebecca Berry at South Piedmont Community College, Tamalyn Peterson at Talladega College, Cinthya Ippoliti at California State University San Marcos, Elise Morgan at Boston University, and Ashlee Stevenson at Northwest Vista College.
"When I first stepped onto campus as a part-time faculty member, I could not have imagined the journey I would eventually pursue," said Dr. Hays. "What kept me here — and what inspired me every day — was the profound belief in the Regis mission and the extraordinary students, alumni, faculty, and staff who manifest that mission so purposefully."
