“Serving this university — my alma mater — has been the privilege of a lifetime,” said President Miller. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and for the dedication and professionalism of this campus community. There is much important work ahead, and I look forward to continuing that work together in the months to come.”

As director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana, Dr. Phelps challenged the Catholic Church to better understand itself through the voices and experiences of Black Catholics and those on the margins. 

The three women scholars who have been promoted to new leadership roles are Mina Sartipi at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Pei-Fang Hung at California State University, Long Beach, and Nam-Kyu Park at the University of Florida.

The American Economic Association has recently honored Dr. Ginther, professor at the University of Kansas, for her work to advance women working in the field of economics. Throughout her career, she has conducted extensive research on understanding and addressing barriers facing women economists working in the profession and in academia.
