Dr. Bassler, the Andrew K. Golden University Professor at Princeton University, is known for her foundational research in quorum sensing — the chemical signaling by which bacteria communicate with each other and band together to act collectively.
Lili He of the University of Massachusetts Amherst is the inaugural recipient of the Phi Tau Sigma Mid-Career Accomplishment Award, which recognizes outstanding mid-career scholars in food science research. Professor He is known for her work in analytical food chemistry and food safety.
Laya Khademibami is an assistant research professor of sustainable bioproducts at Mississippi State University. In her research, she focuses on improving the long-term performance of structural insulated panels.
“Clinical trial leadership influences which research questions are prioritized, which patient populations are included, how endpoints are selected, and how results are interpreted and disseminated,” the authors write. “As such, disparities in leadership may contribute to inequities in the evidence base that informs clinical practice.”

In 2025, women represented about one-quarter of U.S. AI hires. Overall, AI job postings on LinkedIn have doubled since 2023 and AI roles typically pay double the compensation of non-AI roles, suggesting women do not have the same access as men to one of the country's fasting-growing and highest-paying fields.
Between 1990 and 2023, the global healthcare workforce nearly tripled, with women accounting for 71.4 percent of this growth. As of 2023, women represent nearly seven out of every ten healthcare workers, but they remain less than half of the world's doctors.
Dr. Albin is an associate professor of pediatrics and founding director of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center's culinary medicine program, an initiative that aims to empower people to have a thriving relationship with the food they eat.
“We know that women and men age differently; the challenge is understanding why,” said Jennifer Ailshire, co-director of the new center. “By bringing together expertise that has traditionally been separated, GeroSCORE will help uncover how biology, environment and life experiences combine to shape aging.”
Jordana B. Cohen of the University of Pennsylvania and Daria V. Ilatovskaya of Augusta University have been honored by the American Journal of Hypertension for their outstanding research contributions in clinical science and basic science, respectively.
"Done well, simulation doesn't just teach skills. It shapes safer, more thoughtful clinicians," said Dr. Fogg, an associate professor and assistant dean at the Texas Woman's University College of Nursing. "When it's interprofessional, it prepares them to work as part of the collaborative healthcare teams patients depend on."
In the 2024–2025 academic year, women earned 27 percent of the 8,108 total bachelor's degrees in physics awarded by U.S. institutions. This is the highest proportion on record and more than double women's representation in the early 1980s.
