Mechthild Tegeder of Washington State University, MarÃa P. Aranda of the University of Southern California, Andrea Hohmann of Indiana University, and Rupali Chandar of the University of Toledo have all been granted prestigious faculty titles. Professor Karin Öberg was named senior vice provost for faculty at Harvard and Professor Tonya Peeples was appointed a special adviser to the provost at Penn State.
The new deans are Ka Yee C. Lee at the University of Chicago, Marjorie Shavers at Missouri State University, Christina Saenger at Youngstown State University in Ohio, and Emily Tanner-Smith at the University of Oregon.

The women who have been selected for endowed positions are Tiffany Heng-Moss at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, SaMin Han at Mississippi State University, Emily Bernhardt at Cornell University, and Melanie Joy at the University of Colorado Anschutz.
The six women promoted to associate professor and granted tenure are Alicia Atwood in economics, Myra Hughey in biology, Krystle McLaughin in chemistry, Lori Newman in psychological sciences, Tracy O'Neill in English, and Catherine Tan in sociology.
Katherine Macfarlane of Syracuse University is chair of the Association of American Law Schools' section on Women in Legal Education and Tahira Probst was granted the title of Regents Professor at Washington State University. Karen Thole and Judy Schaechter are taking on leadership roles at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Vermont, respectively.
The new deans are Mary Frances Luce at Duke University in North Carolina, Gabrielle Rachael Thomas at Yale University, Karen Drenkard at George Mason University in Virginia, Nicole Kong at Purdue University in Indiana, and Natalie Bayer at Drake University in Iowa.
The four women with new administrative duties are Amber Reed at Purdue University in Indiana, Carrie Zelna at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, Heidi Norman at North Carolina A&T State University, and Susan Chadwick at Washington & Lee University in Virginia.
Ilaria Canavotto, Yulin Hswen, and Swati Srivastava are three of the five inaugural core faculty members at the University of Maryland's Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute at Maryland.
The five promotions went to Yunkyoung L. Garrison in psychology, Lisa R. Gilson and Seulgie Claire Lim in politics, Zhenzhen Lu in Chinese, and Sarah B. Lynch in classical and medieval studies and history.
The appointments are Betty Kim at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Stacey Connaughton at Purdue University, Jennifer Vonk at Oakland University in Michigan, Sheila Browne at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Amy Grunden at North Carolina State University.
