Five Women Appointed to Administrative Posts at Colleges and Universities

Teresa Lucie Thompson was named senior vice president for university relations at the University of Arizona. She currently serves as vice president for marketing and media at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She will begin her new job on May 20.
Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education from Illinois State University.
Kimberly Betz was appointed director of the career center at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. She has been serving as director of career development at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is the former director of internships at Oberlin College in Ohio.
Betz earned a bachelor’s degree in German from Carleton College. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Antoneia L. Roe was named director of judicial affairs in the Division of Student Affairs at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. She was a supervising attorney for the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program, a network of professional staff and community advocates, partnering to provide legal services to benefit Florida’s abused and neglected children.
Roe is a graduate of Florida A&M University and earned her law degree at the University of Miami.
Donna Wardell was named director of alumni relations for the College of Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. She was special assistant to the dean and director of communications at Rutgers University’s School of Social Work.
Wardell is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she majored in sociology. She holds a master of social work degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Tracey Futhey was reappointed to another term as vice president for information technology and chief information officer at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She has served in this position since 2002.
Futhey holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in industrial administration, both from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
