Mary S. Sansalone was appointed vice president for strategic initiatives at Stony Brook University in New York. She has been serving as provost and chief academic officer at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh. She is the former dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis. She taught at Cornell University for 20 years and was the second woman to earn tenure and be promoted to full professor at Cornell’s College of Engineering.
Dr. Sansalone is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Cincinnati. She holds a master of public administration degree from Harvard University and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in structural engineering from Cornell University.
Julie Del Giorno was named athletics integrity officer at Pennsylvania State University. She has been serving as chief of staff at Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She is the former interim vice president for student affairs at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.
Del Giorno is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and served in the Persian Gulf War and in Somalia. She was awarded the Army’s Bronze Star. She also holds an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas.
Cheryl M. Thomas was appointed interim vice president for institutional advancement at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She was vice president for institutional advancement at Tuskegee University in Alabama. She has held development positions at Xavier University in New Orleans and Meharry Medical College in Nashville.
Thomas is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana and holds certifications in planned giving and major fund development from the College of William and Mary.
J. Violet Gannon was named director of career development at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She is the former assistant dean of college at the University of Chicago.
Gannon is a graduate of Brown University and holds a master’s degree in social policy from the University of Chicago.
Trudy Vincent was appointed associate vice president for federal relations at the University of Chicago. She is the former chief of staff for Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico. She also worked in the U.S. Senate for Bill Bradley of New Jersey and Barbara Mikulski of Maryland. She has worked on Capitol Hill since 1986.
Dr. Vincent is a graduate of Duke University and holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Maryland.
Nancy A.G. Vogele is the new director of religious and spiritual life at the William Jewett Tucker Foundation at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Since 2001, she has been the rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in White River Junction, Vermont.
Rev. Vogele is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds a master’s degree from the Yale Divinity School.
Victoria Rowe Berry was named director of the Museum of Art at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. The museum will open later this year. She is the former executive director and chief curator of the Museum of Art at Utah State University in Logan.
Berry earned a master of fine arts degree from Utah State University and is a recent graduate of the Museum Leadership Institute, sponsored by the Getty Foundation.

Ellen Ernst Kossek, professor of management and research director of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence at Purdue University, was elected president of the Work and Family Research Network.
Professor Kossek is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College. She earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
