A New Leader for the Du Bois Campus of Pennsylvania State University

Hatch-MelanieMelanie Hatch was named chancellor of the Du Bois campus of Pennsylvania State University. The campus in the northwestern part of the state enrolls about 800 students.

Dr. Hatch is currently the founding dean of the College of Engineering and Business at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She has served in that role since 2008. Previously, she was dean of the College of Business at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne. She has served as a full-time faculty member at Middle Tennessee State University and Ohio University.

Dr. Hatch is a graduate of Indiana University, where she majored in computer science. She holds a master’s degree in management science from the University of Dayton in Ohio and a Ph.D. in management science from Virginia Tech.

Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
