A study by Bloomberg Businessweek finds that women who earn an MBA degree at the nation’s leading business schools earn less than their male counterparts. The study of 24,716 recent MBA graduates from the nation’s 30 highest-ranked business schools found that women received an average salary of $105,059 in their first job after graduating from business school. This was $8,300, or 8 percent, less than the average salary earned by male graduates of the top business schools in their first job after earning an MBA.
A similar survey conducted a decade ago found that women graduates of the top business schools earned only 2.2 percent less than their male peers.
