
Professor Held is the author of Back to Reality: A Critique of Postmodern Theory in Psychotherapy (W.W. Norton, 1995), Psychology’s Interpretive Turn: The Search for Truth and Agency in Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology (American Psychological Association, 2007) and Stop Smiling, Start Kvetching: A 5-Step Guide to Creative Complaining (St. Martin’s Griffin, 2001). She is a co-editor of Humanity’s Dark Side: Evil, Destructive Experience, and Psychotherapy (American Psychological Association, 2012).
Professor Held is a graduate of Douglass College. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska.
