The AJS Review, the peer-reviewed journal of the Association for Jewish Studies, has named Christine Hayes of Yale University and Magda Teter of Wesleyan University as co-editors.
Dr. Hayes is the Robert F. and Patricia Ross Weis Professor of Religious Studies at Yale. She is the author of Between the Babylonian and Palestinian Talmuds (Oxford University Press, 1997) and Gentile Impurities and Jewish Identities: Intermarriage and Conversion from the Bible to the Talmud (Oxford University Press, 2002).
Professor Hayes is a summa cum laude graduate of Harvard University and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Teter is a professor of history and director of Jewish and Israel studies program at Wesleyan University. She is the author of Jews and Heretics in Catholic Poland: A Beleaguered Church in the Post Reformation Era (Cambridge University Press, 2006) and Sinners on Trial: Jews and Sacrilege after the Reformation (Harvard University Press, 2011). She has been on the faculty at Wesleyan University since 2000.
Dr. Teter holds a master’s degree from the University of Warsaw in Poland and two additional master’s degrees and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
