One Woman Among the Four Finalists for University Librarian at the University of Wisconsin

Over the next six weeks, the four finalists for vice provost for libraries and university librarian at the University of Wisconsin will visit the Madison campus for interviews and public forums. The person chosen for the post will oversee the operation of sixteen libraries with more that 225 employees. Combined, the libraries in the system hold more than 8 million volumes.

One of the four finalists is a woman. Mary-Jo Romaniuk is currently on sabbatical completing doctoral work through the Queensland University of Technology in Australia. She was serving as acting chief librarian at the University of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. She has been with the University of Edmonton since 2000.

Romaniuk holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and a master’s degree in library and information sciences from San Jose State University in California.
