Four Women Who Have Been Selected to Serve as Deans

Jean Lee has been appointed dean of the College of Nursing at St. Petersburg College in Florida. She has over three decades of experience as a registered nurse, including 15 years as a nurse educator. Her nursing expertise spans critical care, including medical, surgical, and trauma care. As an educator, she specializes in online education for nurses pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Dr. Lee received her bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of South Florida.

Kimberly Poole has been promoted to associate vice president and dean of students at Clemson University in South Carolina. A Clemson administrator since 2005, she most recently served as assistant vice president and senior associate dean of students. Earlier, she was the inaugural director of the university’s Office of Advocacy and Success.

A three-time Clemson alumna, Dr. Poole holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in counseling and guidance services, and a doctorate in educational leadership with an emphasis in higher education.

Mary Edith Stacy has been named dean of the Graduate School at Northwestern State University in Louisiana. A Northwestern State faculty member since 1992, she has served as dean of the College of Business and Technology since 2022. She has held both academic and administrative roles, including service as director of enrollment management.

Dr. Stacy received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Northwestern State University. She holds a doctorate from Louisiana State University.

Whitney Gregory has been promoted from assistant dean to dean of students at Elon University in North Carolina. She has been a staff member with Elon’s division of student life since 2007, serving in roles such as assistant director for judicial affairs, director of student conduct, and director of health promotion and student concerns outreach.

Dr. Gregory is a two-time graduate of James Madison University in Virginia, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and her master of education degree in counseling psychology. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Carolina University.
