Tina Smith to Lead Academic Affairs at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark

Tina Smith has been named vice chancellor for academic affairs and workforce advancement at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark.

Dr. Smith began her career as a social studies teacher at Ozark Junior High School. She eventually transitioned to public school administrative roles, including appointments as director of curriculum and federal programs for the Ozark School District and leadership and curriculum coach for the Arkansas Public School Resource Center. She also has teaching experience as an adjunct instructor with the University of Central Arkansas.

In addition to her experience in education, Dr. Smith has a background in both public and private sectors. She previously served as director of policy and special projects for the Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. She also had stints as Arkansas state director for Solution Tree and as a consultant for the Arkansas Family Alliance.

Dr. Smith is an alumna of Arkansas Tech University-Ozark, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in history and education. She holds a master’s degree in secondary education and a doctorate in adult education from the University of Arkansas.
