Stephanie Solywoda Named Director of Syracuse University London

Stephanie Solywoda has been appointed director of the Syracuse University London program, a center that offers academic programs, professional development initiatives, workshops, and civic engagement opportunities for Syracuse students, faculty, and alumni in the United Kingdom.

For the past two decades, Dr. Solywoda has studied and worked at the University of Oxford. She most recently served as director of Stanford University’s Montag Centre for Overseas Studies at Oxford. Earlier in her career, she was the Max Hayward Fellow of Russian Culture at St. Antony’s College Oxford. Her career in higher education has been dedicated to integrating global studies into curricula and expanding study abroad opportunities for students.

Dr. Solywoda is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she majored in Russian civilization. She holds a master’s degree in Russian and Eastern European studies and a Ph.D. in modern history from the University of Oxford.
