Megan Koster, clinical associate professor of respiratory care at Boise State University in Idaho, has been awarded the 2024 Louis Sinopoli Faculty Educational Research Scholarship from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. The annual award recognizes outstanding research that supports the respiratory care profession in education or credentialing.
A member of the Boise State University faculty for more than decade, Dr. Koster currently serves as chair of the department of respiratory care and director of the master’s degree program in respiratory care. Her research focuses on the tangible benefits of earning a graduate-level degree for respiratory practitioners. She studies the financial and advancement opportunities that accompany a master’s level degree, as well as the barriers that prevent respiratory care practitioners from pursuing graduate-level education. As a registered respiratory therapist, she specializes in neonatal and pediatric intensive care.
Dr. Koster holds a master of health science degree in health promotion from Boise State University and a doctorate in education from the University of New England.
