A Trio of New Assistant Professors at Thomas University in Georgia

Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia, in the southwestern part of the state, has announced the hiring of four new faculty members. Three of the new faculty members are women.

Christine Ambrose was appointed an assistant professor of conservation biology. She is also the director of the university’s Geospatial Analysis Planning and Preservation Center. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the university since 2009.

Dr. Ambrose is a graduate of Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, where she majored in biology and German. She earned a Ph.D. in biological sciences from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.

Diane Hopkins was named an assistant professor of biology. She was an assistant professor at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee.

Dr. Hopkins is a graduate of Carson Newman College. She earned a master’s degree from Tennessee Technology University in Cookeville and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Deborah Burch was appointed assistant professor of nursing. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the university for the past year. Previously, she worked for the Florida Department of Health.

Burch is a graduate of West Chester University in Pennsylvania. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Florida State University.
