Aimee Sapp Appointed the Ninth President of Meredith College in North Carolina

Aimee Sapp has been selected to serve as the ninth president of Meredith College, a private women’s college in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Meredith College enrolls roughly 1,500 undergraduate and 300 graduate students. Undergraduate residential students are restricted to women, but men are able to enroll in graduate programs.

Dr. Sapp has been with Williams Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, for over 25 years, holding various academic and administrative positions. She first joined the university in 1998 as an assistant professor of communication and has since progressed to the rank of full professor. She currently serves the university as provost and chief academic officer, a position she has held since 2013. Throughout her tenure, she has held other leadership positions including department chair, division chair, and associate dean.

“I am inspired by Meredith College’s commitment to women’s education, academic excellence, and a diverse and inclusive community,” said Dr. Sapp. “I am eager to contribute my skills and experience in higher education leadership toward Meredith’s continued growth and success.”

Dr. Sapp holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from William Woods University, a master’s degree in speech communication from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Missouri.
