New Administrative Positions for Four Women Leaders

Asia Duren has been named director of student life for her alma mater, Mississippi University for Women. She most recently served as program manager for student organizations and involvement at Florida State University.

Duren graduated from Mississippi University for Women where she majored in mass communication. She received her master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from Mississippi State University.

Adelle Schade has been promoted to vice president of strategic partnerships and chief strategy officer at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. She previously served as dean of the pre-college and summer programs and founded Albright College’s Total Experience Learning program.

Dr. Schade holds a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in biology education from Kutztown Unviersity in Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in microbiology from the Jefferson Graduate School of Biomedical Science in Philadelphia, and a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

Janey Smith Camp has been appointed director of the Division of Adaptation in the Center for Applied Earth Sciences at the University of Memphis. She most recently served as director of the Engineering Center for Transportation and Operational Resiliency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Camp received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering from Tennessee Technical University. She holds a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Amber Grove has been promoted to chief ethics and compliance officer at Pennsylvania State University. She has served as the university’s title IX coordinator since November 2022 and is a licensed attorney in the states of Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

Grove received her bachelor of arts degree and juris doctorate from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania.

Ayanna Howard Appointed the Twelfth President of Spelman College in Atlanta

Dr. Howard joins Spelman from Ohio State University, where she has been serving as dean of the College of Engineering. She is a nationally recognized expert in robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-centered technology.
