
Dr. Miller has been the director of choral activities at North Dakota State University since 1989. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conducting and choral literature, and also serves as artistic director of the North Dakota State University Baroque Festival. In 2009, she was named University Distinguished Professor, the university’s most prestigious faculty status. Outside of her appointments with North Dakota State University, she serves as chorus master of the local Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra.
“I’m grateful and humbled to be among so many wonderful conductors who have received this award,” Dr. Miller said. “I’ve been blessed with so many great students whose talent, commitment and musicianship have made music-making a joy.”
Dr. Miller completed her undergraduate education at North Dakota State University. She received her master of education degree from the University of North Dakota and her doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.
