Two Women Named to Provost Positions at Universities

Oakland City University in Indiana has named Cathy Robb its next provost and vice president of academic affairs. Dr. Robb first joined the southwest Indiana university in 2013, most recently serving as dean and professor in the School of Business. She has taught nearly 20 classes in Oakland City University’s business school.

“I have seen education enrich students’ lives through the power of learning,” Dr. Robb said. “I am passionate about teaching and impacting change towards making improvements, which is why becoming provost at OCU is a perfect fit for me.”

Dr.Robb earned master’s degrees in education and accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University. She holds an educational doctorate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Monique Guillory was appointed provost and chief academic and enrollment officer at Dillard University in New Orleans, effective April 1, 2024. Most recently, she has been chief of staff and senior vice president for the University of the District of Columbia. She previously worked at Morehouse School of Medicine as the chief of staff and chief administrative officer for the Office of the President and Dean.

“I am so honored to be joining the Dillard leadership team and helping to realize the bold vision President Ford has articulated for Dillard’s future,” Dr. Guillory said. “I believe my extensive professional journey has prepared me for this opportunity. I look forward to working side-by-side with Dillard’s faculty and students and being a part of this exceptional community.”

Dr. Guillory is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, She earned a Ph.D. in comparative literature and performance studies from New York University.
