Three Women Who Are Taking on New Roles Relating to Diversity in Higher Education

Kristina Londy was promoted to director of student success and inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, California. She has been serving as a student services specialist within the Office of Student Life & Leadership at the college. Earlier, she was interim director of the MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center at San Jose State University and assistant dean for the Office of Institutional Diversity at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.

Londy is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills, where she majored in human services. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from California State University, Fullerton.

Gillian McKnight-Tutein was appointed chief educational equity officer for the Colorado Department of Higher Education. She has been serving as vice president of student success, and interim provost and vice president of academic affairs at the Community College of Denver.

Dr. McKnight-Tutein holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida International University. She earned a master’s degree in human resources development and administration from Barry University in Miami and a doctorate in instructional technology and distance education from Nova Southeastern University.

S. Brooke Vick was recently named the inaugural vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She has been serving as the chief diversity officer, associate provost for equity and inclusion, and associate professor of psychology at Muhlenberg College in Allentown Pennsylvania.

Dr. Vick holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Colorado College. She earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
