The University of Louisville has set up a new women’s health kiosk in the lobby of the School of Dentistry. The kiosk offers information on general wellness, breast cancer, diabetes, asthma, weight management, smoking cessation, sexually transmitted diseases, and a host of other health topics.
Faculty at the dental school developed the content for a section called “Healthy Teeth and Gums.” The kiosk, designed like a bank automated teller machine, offers health information in English and Spanish. A telephone link can connect users with health care professionals.
Similar kiosk locations are planned throughout the state. Here is a video that gives more details on the women’s health kiosks.
