Susan R. Helper, the Frank Tracy Carlton Professor of Economics at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, recently began a one-year term as senior economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. Professor Helper, who has been on the faculty at Case Western Reserve since 1990, will advise the president on manufacturing policy.
Dr. Helper taught at Boston University before joining the faculty at Case Western Reserve. She is a research associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research and sits on the editorial board of the Strategic Management Journal.
Professor Helper is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio. She earned a Ph.D. in economics at Harvard University.
