Julie Heath has been selected as the inaugural executive director of the Indiana University Innovates Hub, which has launched this fall and will provide a focal point for university efforts to accelerate entrepreneurship and innovation. Heath recently served as vice president of entrepreneurial ecosystems for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
Heath is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she majored in studio art and economics. She holds a master of fine arts degree in painting from the University of New Hampshire.
Kelly McMurray, a statistician, educator, and experienced administrator, has been named chief of staff and senior vice president of the University of the District of Columbia. She was vice president for strategic planning, analysis, and institutional effectiveness at Florida A&M University.
Dr. McMurray received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Clark Atlanta University and a master’s degree in applied mathematics from North Carolina A&T State University. She holds a Ph.D. in educational policy studies, with a concentration in research, measurement, and statistics, from Georgia State University.
Penny Mansell was appointed director of the Center for Education Support at Mississippi University for Women. Since 2016, Mansell has served as the director of the Child and Parent Development Center located on the university’s campus. As part of the School of Education, the center provides a high-quality neighborhood preschool.
Mansell is a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women, where she majored in public relations. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood education from the University of West Alabama.
Adrienne Cowan Edney was appointed assistant director of communications at Talladega College in Alabama. She was a communications specialist in the College of Education at the University of Mississippi. She previously worked as a marketing and outreach coordinator for the University of Mississippi Division of Outreach.
Edney earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in integrated marketing and communications at the University of Mississippi.
Kristie Bowers is the new associate vice president and director of athletics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Since 2019, she has served as senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator at Boston University. Earlier, Dr. Bowers was the assistant athletic director for student-athlete support and development at Binghamton University of the State University of New York System.
Dr. Bowers is a graduate of Binghamton University, where she majored in human development and played soccer. She holds a master’s degree in teaching from Western Carolina University and a Ph.D. in community and public affairs from Binghamton University.
Rachel Nosowsky is the inaugural chief counsel for University of California, San Francisco Health. In 2010, she joined the University of California Office of the General Counsel, headquartered in Oakland, to provide advice on research and clinical trials at the university’s health professions schools.
Raised in San Francisco, Nosowsky earned her law degree at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
