Four Nursing Schools Announce Their New Leaders

Laly Joseph was named dean of the Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. She was the interim dean and professor at the Phillips School of Nursing at Mount Sinai in New York City.

Dr. Jospeh earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the Bombay Veterinary College in Mumbai, India. She later earned bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in nursing from Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.

Tesa Keeling was appointed dean of the School of Nursing at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska. Dr. Keeling has spent the past 13 years working at the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha and as an adjunct professor at Midland University.

Dr. Keeling is a graduate of Clarkson College in Omaha. She holds a doctorate in nursing education and leadership.

Kristi Stinson is the new interim dean of the College of Nursing at Seton Hall University. She joined the faculty at the nursing school in 2013. She has served as chair of the undergraduate nursing department from 2019 to 2023.

Dr. Stinson is a nursing graduate of Villanova University in Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in adult and acute care and a Ph.D. in nursing from Seton Hall University.

Allison Webel has agreed to serve as interim executive dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Washington, effective August 1. Dr. Webel currently serves as the associate dean for research in the School of Nursing, and she holds the Aljoya Endowed Professorship in Aging.

Dr. Webel is a graduate of Ohio State University, where she majored in nursing and sociology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of California, San Francisco.

Caroline Attardo Genco Named the First Woman President of the University at Buffalo

Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
