Anna J. Egalite, an associate professor in the College of Education at North Carolina State University, has been selected as the American Educational Research Association Outstanding Reviewer. She is being honored for her work with the journal Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. The multidisciplinary journal publishes scholarly manuscripts of theoretical, methodological or policy interest to those engaged in policy analysis, evaluation, and decision making. Dr. Egalite has served on the journal’s editorial board since 2020 and regularly reviews new submissions for the publication.
“Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis is a leading journal in my field,” Dr. Egalite said. “It is known for publishing high-quality, rigorous, and policy-relevant research on education policy issues. It is an honor to be invited to weigh in on the methodological and policy implications of research submissions to EEPA that fall within my area of expertise. I appreciate the opportunity to offer advice on how to improve the manuscripts I review for EEPA, to help strengthen them so they may contribute in meaningful ways to our field.”
Dr. Egalite’s research focuses on the evaluation of education policies and programs intended to close racial and economic achievement gaps, and her work has examined school choice policy, school size, and the diversification of the education workforce.
Dr. Egailite joined the faculty at North Carolina State University in 2015. She is currently serving as a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Dr. Egalite is a graduate of St. Patrick’s College in Dublin, Ireland, where she majored in elementary education. She holds a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and a Ph.D. in educational policy from the University of Arkansas.
