Saonee Sarker has been named the next dean of the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a professor in the department of informatics in the School of Economics and Management at Lund University in Sweden. She is also a visiting professor in the department of management at the London School of Economics. Previously, Dr. Sarker was at the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce from 2013 to 2021.
Dr. Sarker earned a bachelor’s degree from Lady Brabourne College of Calcutta University in India. She holds an MBA from the University of Cincinnati and a Ph.D. from Washington State University.
Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa has announced that Anne Power has been hired as academic dean of business and information technology at the college’s Ankeny campus. Dr. Power comes to DMACC from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, where she served as the dean of the School of Business and Technology.
Power earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Iowa. She holds an MBA in information systems from the University of South Dakota and a Ph.D. in higher education administration and leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Claire Stewart has been selected as the next Juanita J. and Robert E. Simpson Dean of Libraries and University Librarian at the University of Illinois, beginning May 16. Since 2019, she has served as the dean of libraries for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Earlier, she was associate university librarian for research and learning at the University of Minnesota.
Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in humanistic studies from St. Mary’s College and a master of library and information science degree from Dominican University.
Kathleen Rudasill has been named interim dean of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Education, effective May 15. Dr. Rudasill serves as professor and senior associate dean for research and faculty development in the School of Education. She joined the university in 2018 after serving as the Susan J. Rosowski professor in educational psychology in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Professor Rudasill earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She holds a master’s degree in secondary social studies teaching from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Virginia.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, business, and public service, Dr. Kollmann has been serving as chancellor of the New Mexico State University Global Campus. She is slated to become the next president of Vermont State University in July.
