A New Online Tool to Assess the Campus Climate Regarding Sexual Assault, Prevention, and Victim Support

The nonprofit organization End Rape on Campus works to end campus sexual violence through direct support for survivors and their communities; prevention through education; and policy reform at the campus, local, state, and federal levels. The organization has established a new online information tool for students to compare statistics, resources, prevention measures, and policies relating to sexual assault on a particular campus.

The Campus Accountability Map + Tool empowers current and prospective students, survivors, and their communities with the ability to view in-depth information on each institution’s sexual assault investigation policies, prevention efforts, and available survivor support resources as well as high-level statistics on definitions, trainings, sanctions, and investigations. The map also allows users to compare these metrics between schools and gain a better understanding of what policies look like across the nation through a user-friendly interface.

To date, there is data on about 750 colleges and universities nationwide but more schools will be added in the near future.

“Both this year and last school year, we’ve seen calls for increased transparency and accountability in the more than 400 student-led protests against sexual assault on campuses,” said Kenyora Lenair Parham, executive director of End Rape On Campus. “As End Rape On Campus approaches our 10-year anniversary this year, our new Campus Accountability Map & Tool puts campus accountability on the map to empower students with the resources students need.”
