In Memoriam: Kathy Cutshaw, 1947-2022

Kathy Cutshaw, vice chancellor emerita at the University of HawaiÊ»i at Mānoa, passed away on September 25. She served as the university’s vice chancellor for administrative, finance, and operations under six chancellors from January 2005 until her retirement in August 2019. She was awarded the title of vice chancellor emerita by the university’s board of regents on July 18, 2019.

Prior to her tenure as vice chancellor, Cutshaw served as director of administrative services for the university’s School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology from February 1997 until January 2005.

A native of Lompoc, California, Cutshaw lived in the Lompoc and Santa Barbara areas during the 1970s. During the 1980s and 1990s, she lived in the San Diego area and worked in administration in the department of physics at the University of California, San Diego.

Cutshaw returned to San Diego after her retirement from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa.
