Kristen Butcher has been named the inaugural holder of the Marshall I. Goldman Professorship at Wellesley College. The endowed chair honors Marshall Goldman, the Kathryn Wasserman Davis Professor of Russian Economics, Emeritus at the college. The Goldman Chair will be reserved for members of the economics department at Wellesley.
Professor Butcher is a graduate of Wellesley College. She earned a master’s degree at the London School of Economics and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. at Princeton University.
Marsha Dutton is the first holder of the Samuel and Susan Crowl Professorship in English Literature at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Samuel and Susan Crowl were both English professors at Ohio University. Dr. Dutton is a professor of medieval literature and chair of the department of English at the university.
Professor Dutton holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Michigan.
