Ruth Jebe will be the inaugural holder of the Robert V. Hansberger Chair of Business Ethics at Boise State University. This is the first endowed chair in a college of business in the state of Idaho. Her research explores ethical issues for multinational corporations and sustainability in business. Before joining the faculty at Boise State in 2016, Jebe was an associate teaching professor at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Professor Jebe holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota. She also earned a master’s degree in management at the University of Denver.
Akiko Iwasaki has been appointed Sterling Professor of Immunobiology and of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology at the Yale University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of immune defense against viruses at the mucosal surfaces. She joined the faculty at the medical school in 2000.
A native of Japan, Professor Iwasaki earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and physics and a Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Toronto.
Jane L. Risen has been named the H.G.B. Alexander Professor of Behavioral Science at the University of Chicago. Professor Risen conducts research in the areas of judgment and decision making, intuitive belief formation, magical thinking, stereotyping and prejudice, and managing emotion. Dr. Risen has taught at the university since 2007.
Professor Risen is a summa cum laude graduate of Harvard Univerity. She holds a Ph.D. in social and personality psychology from Cornell University.
