The New Leader of Sterling College in Craftsbury Commons, Vermont

The board of trustees of Sterling College in Craftsbury Commons, Vermont, has appointed Dr. Lori Collins-Hall as interim president.
According to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Education, Sterling College enrolled only 139 students in the fall of 2020. Women made up 57 percent of the student body.
Sterling College is one of only nine colleges and universities recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a “work college.” Founded in 1958, Sterling College is home to the School of the New American Farmstead and the Wendell Berry Farming Program
Dr. Collins-Hall has been serving as senior vice president and chief operating officer at the college. Prior to joining Sterling, she was provost and vice president of academic affairs at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Prior to Antioch, Dr. Collins-Hall was a tenured faculty member and chair of the sociology department at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York.
Dr. Collins-Hall is a graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland, where she majored in sociology. She holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University at Albany of the State University of New York System.
